value based care readiness

To succeed in value-based care (VBC), there are several factors to consider when choosing VBC arrangements. These factors include the type of alternative payment model (APM), your organization’s VBC experience, data acquisition and management, reporting and analytics capabilities, your VBC technology ecosystem, mode of risk capture, and risk tolerance. For instance, if you are currently in pay-for-reporting or pay-for-performance VBC arrangements, you are unlikely to find success by jumping into VBC arrangements with integrated finance and delivery systems. Walk before you run: make sure you have a good grasp of APMs with shared savings first before entering into more complex integrated finance and delivery models.

Take a look at the readiness for value-based care model infographic to see where your organization sits on the spectrum from novice to expert (low maturity to high maturity, respectively). We also recommend downloading a copy of our eBook Assess and Accelerate Your Value-Based Care Readiness, which offers a more in-depth explanation of each attribute to help you assess your own roadmap to success in VBC arrangements. If you have additional questions or would like to discuss your VBC readiness with a seasoned expert, feel free to get in touch with us today.
