Meet Us At The 2016 Risk Adjustment Forum

Dean Stephens
November 1, 2016

The year may be winding down, but Talix is keeping up the momentum! Next week, Talix is heading to Miami, Fla. for the Risk Adjustment Forum, taking place November 10-11. The Forum is another one of the events we’re sponsoring through RISE, and the planners are promising an outstanding curriculum focused on revenue management and risk mitigation strategies.

We always look forward to attending these events, as they’re a great opportunity to catch up with long-time colleagues and make new connections in the ever-growing world of risk adjustment. This time, we’re particularly excited because our CEO, Dean Stephens, will be presenting a session alongside Myja Peterson, senior director of health plan analytics for non-profit cooperative health plan New Mexico Health Connections. During their session, entitled “Using Predictive Analytics to Identify Risk, Track Data, and Close Gaps,” Dean and Myja will discuss the growing use of predictive analytics in risk adjustment, including:

  • Utilizing predictive modeling to identify gaps in coding and condition capture
  • Weighting member populations to calculate risk scores and costs
  • Strategic chart-chasing — producing a chase list that will improve your risk scope
  • Mapping methodologies for risk score optimization, such as looking at various angles to get the best outcomes
  • Stratifying members to determine which chart reviews will be most effective

The session is scheduled for Thursday, November 10 from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the JW Marriott Marquis. Together, Dean and Myja have more than 50 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Additionally, New Mexico Health Connections operates on New Mexico’s Health Insurance Exchange and is one of just a handful of Co-Ops that are successfully weathering the challenges posed by the ACA. If you’re looking for innovative strategies to help you achieve risk adjustment success, I encourage you to sit in on their session.

Talix will also be showcasing our core product, Coding InSight on the exhibition floor. Coding InSight is the smart solution to help provider and payer organizations simplify risk-adjusted coding. It easily identifies missed codes and quickly closes coding gaps to ensure the most accurate risk scores and effectively manage risk-based reimbursements. If you’re going to be at the Risk Adjustment Forum, drop by the Talix booth to see a live demo of Coding InSight and learn how it can help you improve your risk adjustment program.

We look forward to seeing you there!
